    A JUBILANT CELEBRATION always marks the annual Mass for the anniversary of the Albany Diocese's Black Catholic Apostolate, based at St. Joan of Arc parish in Menands.   • 'CROSS TRAINING' IN CLIFTON PARK
    PEOPLE WHO EXERCISE know that it helps their fitness level to periodically change up their workouts, trying different exercises. St. Edward the Confessor parish in Clifton Park just followed this principle when in comes to the faith of children, offering a summer "Cross Training Camp" with activities, Bible stories and music.
  • TROY'S ST. ANNE NOVENA OFFERED AT ST. AUGUSTINE'S
    AN ANNUAL NOVENA to St. Anne, the mother of Mary, was offered last weekend at St. Augustine's parish in Troy, along with a celebration of St. Anne de Beaupre's July 26 feast day.
  • New veterans’ group wants to help Schenectady vets

    Inside the parish center at St. Luke’s in Schenectady, a group of local veterans chat amongst themselves. Tables are pushed together, and the men and women sit down for the third installment of St. Luke’s veterans’ support group. Still in its infancy, the group was created to establish a network of support for veterans and help local veterans in need.

  • The quiet tradition of lighting candles in churches
    Linda Brown approached the candle stand at her parish, Christ the King in Westmere, Albany. She dropped a donation in the collection box and lit two candles.
  • Bikeatoga Workshop keeps  Saratoga residents rolling
    Unbeknownst to many parishioners of St. Peter’s in Saratoga Springs, the church basement is home to the Bikeatoga Workshop, an organization that fixes broken bicycles and donates them to people in need.
  • For many people, summer means barbecues, dips in the pool and the jingle of ice cream trucks. But, for parishioners of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Hancock, summer means that parish movie nights are back at Hancock Cinemas.
  • Lake George parish welcomes international students
    Sacred Heart parish in Lake George is helping to promote diversity and create international friendships through its assistance with the Lake George Student Connection program.
  • Priest sees more couples  convalidating marriages

    Ginger and Jim McDade of St. Jude the Apostle parish in Wynantskill always wanted to have their marriage convalidated. “I think it adds a positive weight on marriage and your respect to each other,” Mrs. McDade said.

  • Hoosick Falls parish  relocating worship site

    Immaculate Conception par­ish in Hoosick Falls is making a move. On July 1, Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger joined parishioners for an evening prayer service and discussion about relocating to 4 Parsons Ave., the campus of St. Mary’s Academy, the parish school.
